I hope you find this web site inspiring and informative.

I formed Beacon Energy in 1992 with the aim of increasing public awareness about climate change and the things we can all do to address it.

Our Aims

Today most people are aware of climate change and the damaging effect it is already having. Beacon Energy demonstrates and promotes sustainability, with particular emphasis on renewable energy and energy storage. We aim to persuade and encourage people to see the benefits of these technologies and philosophies, so that we can plan for the future in a way that recognises our collective responsibility to do something to reduce the speed with which negative changes to the environment are taking place.

Our Achievements

These pages will guide you around our two premises, West Beacon Farm and Whittle Hill Farm buildings () and give you an overview of the practical measures we are taking to conserve resources. It will also give more technical information about the integrated renewable energy network and energy storage systems we are operating. You will find information about how we are improving the ecology and biodiversity our surrounding area; we aim to recognise the needs of other species and our dependence upon them.

“We practice what we preach – our premises operate independently from the national electricity grid and our overall energy consumption is less than half the average for office buildings in the UK”

Further Information

There are numerous pdf documents available from the resources section which cover a wide range of related issues, please read those that interest you and if you find anything thought provoking...

...tell other people – the sooner we all stop taking our planet for granted the better!
